The Happy Island, Aruba

An absolute A-lister for dream vacation is the tropical island Aruba.

Let me paint this picture for you. Crystal blue water slightly wet the soft white sand, the sun caresses your skin and giving it a golden tan, a nice lady is bringing you a sweet pineapple. In the background you can hear different languages.

Aruba is a mix of different cultures, natural beauty and delicious cuisine. It is called a happy island. It is relatively small and therefore easy to explore. The inhabitants are kind and helpful. It is usually warm and windy. The temperatures are perfect, around 26-32 degrees Celsius.

Best beaches

The best sunset is from Arashi, Palm beach. Stay the whole day snorkeling. In the evening admire the sunset with a happy hour cocktail.

Also, I would recommend the Baby Beach, where you can feed the wild donkeys. The water is shallow, which makes it a perfect place for families with kids.

For great rock formation head to Druif Beach. It is a serene beach, calmer than other beaches. Its white sand and clear calm waters create a perfect place for relaxation.

Stay one or two nights in Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort and visit the Renaissance Beach, which is great to see and feed the flamingoes. It is a private beach and only accessible when staying at the resort, but it is well worth it!

Local Cuisine

Who doesn’t like melted cheese? Keshi Yena is the national dish of Aruba. It is a large ball of cheese stuffed with spicy chicken or beef and melted together.

Pastechi are deep fried crescent-shaped dough (remind the Polish pierogis). They can be filled with different stuffings, such as cheese, seafood, vegetables, or meat. You usually combine them with chopped onions, peppers, celery and nutmeg.

Pan bati reminds me of pancakes and flat bread. It can be eaten for breakfast or for desserts. It can be savoury or sweet. It has a fluffy consistency. It is made of baking powder, a pinch of sugar, oil and milk.

Are you interested? So, what are you waiting for? Pack your suitcase and fly to Aruba to find your happy place!
